Friendship Baptist Church is a Christian faith community committed to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ through love, service, outreach and discipleship.
Our vision is to be a community focused church where people can have a first-class, life-changing experience with God through Jesus Christ regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.
Real * Relevant * Relational
LOVE: Jesus said, "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another." (John 13:34)
We believe that love is the foundation of our relationship with God. As such we strive to be a consistently welcoming congregation that demonstrates unconditional love toward ourselves and others.
AUTHENTICITY: Jesus said, "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” (Matthew 4:19)
We believe that Jesus met people on their level from all different walks of life and embraced their authentic personalities in becoming His disciples. In keeping with our church's motto: "Real, Relevant and Relational" we strive to be a congregation that embraces and expresses our true feelings and emotions while honoring and respecting the authenticity of others.
STEWARDSHIP: Jesus said, "From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded." (Luke 12:48b)
We believe that God has not created us to be "an island to ourselves." Since God has so richly blessed us individually and corporately, we strive to be a giving congregation that actively supports our church, our local community and missions throughout the world.
SPIRITUALITY: Jesus said, "I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!” (John 16:33)
We believe spirituality is the way in which we are nurtured and nourished by God to create and maintain holistic balance in our lives. As such, we use the Bible and prayer as our guides. We strive to learn from Jesus' life, teachings and ministry to inform our responses to positive and negative challenges in everyday living.
GROWTH: Jesus said, "In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit." (Matthew 7:17)
We believe that a living church is a growing church. As such we strive to be a congregation that encourages spiritual, numerical, emotional and financial growth by engaging in personal and corporate development, educational opportunities and community outreach initiatives.
INFLUENCE: Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
We believe that this "Great Commission" is as applicable to today's church as when it was instituted by Jesus. As such because of our gratitude for God's grace toward us, we strive to influence others to become committed disciples of Jesus throughout the world by sharing the Gospel (good news) and providing opportunities for ongoing spiritual development.
